How to create your own perfume brand
A step-by-step guide to starting a perfume brand — brand idea, scent, bottle, samples, production and launch with a private label manufacturer.
Guide
Start a perfume brand without building a factory
Most new perfume brands do not own a lab or a filling line. They work with a private label perfume manufacturer: you bring the brand, and the manufacturer supplies the fragrance, bottle, packaging and production. This guide walks through the seven steps we take brands through at ECNARGARF in Dubai — from first idea to boxed bottles shipped to your market.
Step by step
7 steps to create your own perfume brand
Define your brand and market
Decide who you sell to, where (online, boutique, salon or retail) and at what price. That shapes the concentration, bottle and packaging you choose. Check the label rules in your country, and ask us which product documents we can supply for it.
Choose your products and quantity
Start focused — one to three fragrances is enough to launch. Production runs from 300 pieces per variant. Formats include eau de parfum and extrait, body mist, hair mist, perfume oils, bakhoor and oud, diffusers, room fresheners and body lotion. Set types, fill size and quantity in Create.
Pick a scent direction
Browse our fragrance library — each direction shows its Opening, Heart and Drydown — or brief a custom direction with our atelier. The Olfactive Atelier explains concentrations and note families.
Order samples and test them
Order a discovery kit of 3, 5 or 10 vials, shipped free worldwide; 50% of what you pay is credited toward your first production invoice. Wear each scent on skin over several days before you decide — fragrance develops as it matures.
Choose bottle, cap and box
Pick bottles, pumps, caps, boxes and gift sets from the white-label catalogue, with finishes such as gradient, frosted, metallic or tinted glass. Custom moulds are possible — mention it in your brief.
Prepare your artwork
Send your brand name and a high-resolution PDF logo or label artwork. We apply your design to bottle and box — we do not create logos — and you confirm the final design before production.
Produce and ship
We fill and quality-check in Dubai, then pack and ship by courier, air or sea freight to your warehouse or stores. Plan on about 45–60 working days once scent, bottle and design are approved — see How it works.

What makes up the cost of a perfume brand
- Samples — a discovery kit to choose your scents (half credited to production).
- Production per piece — depends on fragrance, concentration and fill size.
- Packaging — catalogue bottles, caps and boxes, or a custom mould.
- Shipping and import — freight to your country, plus local duties and taxes after arrival.
Send your brief in Create and we quote your exact programme.
Avoid these
Common mistakes when launching a perfume line
- Launching too many fragrances at once — start with your strongest one to three.
- Choosing a scent from the vial alone — always test on skin over a few days.
- Sending a low-resolution logo — print needs a high-resolution PDF.
- Forgetting your market's label rules and import duties until the goods arrive.

FAQ
Starting a perfume brand — common questions
How much does it cost to start a perfume brand?
It depends on how many fragrances you launch, the bottle and packaging you choose, and your quantity. The first step is samples: discovery kits of 3, 5 or 10 fragrance vials cost USD 300 / 500 / 1,000, with free shipping worldwide. After you choose a scent and packaging, we send a production quotation for your exact brief.
What is the minimum order (MOQ) for private label perfume?
Production starts from 300 pieces per variant. You can launch with one fragrance and add more variants later. Start your brief in Create.
Do I need my own perfume formula?
No. You can choose from our fragrance library or brief a custom direction with our atelier. Use the Olfactive Atelier to pick strength (Extrait, Eau de Parfum, Eau de Toilette) and note families.
What do I need to provide?
Your brand name and a high-resolution PDF logo or label artwork — we apply your design, but we do not create logos. Scent, bottle, cap and box are chosen with our team.
How long does private label perfume production take?
Plan on about 45–60 working days end to end once fragrance, bottle, cap and design are approved: sample preparation about 5–7 working days, manufacturing about 25–30 working days, and courier shipping about 10–12 working days. Full timeline on How it works.
Who owns the brand and the fragrance?
You do. The brand under your name is your intellectual property — we manufacture for you and do not own your brand. Formulations and packaging for your programme stay confidential, and we produce only for your confirmed orders.
Do you ship private label orders worldwide?
Yes. We ship from Dubai to the Middle East, Europe and the UK, the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Australia and New Zealand — courier for samples and small orders, air or sea freight for production. Import duties after arrival are usually the buyer's responsibility. See private label by region.
